The accommodation, experiences and service were exceptional, and the whole trip felt completely stress-free. The Argentina/Antarctica expedition was my second trip arranged by Lightfoot Travel and my first planned by Olie, who did an outstanding job. I began working with Olie in the Fall 2023 and from the start he clearly understood my goals: a small, comfortable expedition ship; travel early or late in the season; and activities such as kayaking, hiking, zodiac cruising, supported by an experienced and knowledgeable expedition team. He presented several well-considered options and thoughtfully explained the differences between seasons in terms of wildlife, weather, snow, and ice, as well as route variations. Based on his guidance, I chose an early spring (November) departure aboard the HMS Seaventure. Before the cruise, I spent four nights in Buenos Aires. Olie recommended a city tour, a food tour, and a milonga visit, all of which were enjoyable and well organized. The local guides provided by Argentina Travel Partners were professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. The hotel was located in a lovely neighborhood near a beautiful park. On my return, I stayed two nights at a small hotel in the Palermo district. Staying in two different areas, an idea suggested by Olie, allowed me to experience more of the city, and I was glad to have done so. In Ushuaia, Olie arranged two nights at the Arakur Resort and a tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park. The hotel’s setting was spectacular, with sweeping views of the bay and surrounding mountains, and both the accommodations and food were excellent. Despite rainy and snowy conditions, the national park tour was thoroughly enjoyable, thanks to a fantastic guide. Working with Argentina Travel Partners also provided peace of mind, ensuring local expertise and an in-country emergency contact. The 10-day cruise aboard the Seaventure exceeded my expectations and was truly the adventure of a lifetime. Olie played a key role in making it such a success. He is highly knowledgeable about South America and Antarctica, patient, and always prompt in responding to questions. He kept me informed about new transit visa requirements for U.S. travellers passing through Brazil and provided helpful, up-to-date travel advice. When my flight from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires changed, he proactively coordinated with Argentine Travel Partners to ensure I was met at the correct airport. Knowing that Olie was available via WhatsApp greatly reduced the stress of travel and enhanced the overall experience. Thank you, Olie. Khairil organised an amazing 10 day tour of China for me. It was really good. Hotels were excellent and all transportation and sightseeing was seamless. Khairil was very patient and easy to deal with and the whole experience with Lightfoot was really amazing.

Having been to Mongolia independently several decades ago, I looked for a travel company that could specialise in a custom made family trip (for 6 of us) that already had a lot of experience operating and working in a place like Mongolia. Lightfoot seemed to fit that bill. From the minute I reached out and Sophie responded I knew we were in good hands. We planned it for over year and finally going this summer the trip ended up being utterly extraordinary and above expectations. From the superb guides, luxe and traditional accommodation, well organised and comfortable transport, to activities like witnessing Nadaam, riding camels and horses, nomadic encounters, treks to temples, swimming in pristine lakes, eating amazing food and drinking a fair bit of airag - every day seemed to bring awe and wonder. It was one of those life-changing trips for us and our teenagers. Would highly recommend Lightfoot and will certainly consider them again for another family adventure.

My first time with Lightfoot Travel on a Solo bespoke tour of Gansu China was fulfilling and a truly satisfying experience. Thank You Nikki for designing an engaging itinerary that takes me beyond the usual tourist traps at a very balanced pace, allowing me to enjoy a variety of experience within a very short time frame. My guide Jane, was flexible, responsive and very accommodating, riding on horses with me into an unexpected snow storm and through challenging terrain, always with a smile and making sure I am safe and comfortable every step of the way. Lightfoot Travel’s Nico and team planned an amazing itinerary for my family’s holiday to South Africa. We have never been there and didn’t know what to expect. Our trip was perfectly organised, hotels luxurious and service staff attentive. All the guides for different excursions were very knowledgeable. Daily excursions were well planned and carefully curated to ensure we get to experience all that we should.
